At some point pleasure got filed under frivolous, and fun became a reward for finishing everything on the list.
You know the list never ends. So what exactly are you waiting for?
THE QUESTION
When did enjoying your life become something you had to earn first?
THE QUEST
Do one thing today for no reason other than you like it. It cannot be useful. It cannot count as anything.
Buy the flowers. Sit in a café with a good drink and nothing to do. Watch a film in the afternoon. Put the music on and do nothing else while it plays.
Or whatever yours is. I could not possibly list them all, and some of them are none of my business.
Make it indulgent. Take longer over it than you need to, which is the part you will want to rush.
You have earned nothing and you are doing it anyway. Write down what it was.
