THE TRAILER IS LIVE
A short opening — what this podcast is, and why I am making it.
This is the trailer. Episode One — the full first episode — drops June 13. The women begin telling their stories after that.
· · ·
· · ·
There is a season in a woman’s life when something underneath begins to move. The roles loosen. The performance gets harder to maintain. The voice she muted for thirty years starts trying to come back.
It is not a crisis. It is a calling.
The women I know who are living through this season are not falling apart. They are coming together for the first time. And they have stories that almost no one is asking to hear.
The Crone Stories is where those stories get told.
· · ·
This is different from most podcasts. Here is what it actually looks like.
01
A woman fills out the form on this site with her story in her own words. I read every one.
02
If her story moves me, I reach out. We have what I call a harvest interview — an unhurried conversation where I gather the deeper material. She can be on camera, off camera, named or unnamed. Her comfort sets the terms.
03
Using what she shared, I write her story in my own voice. Slowly, with care, the way I would tell it to a friend who needed to hear it. She tells me what level of anonymity she wants — her real name, a different name, no name at all, locations changed, details adjusted. Her boundaries shape the writing.
04
Before I record, she reads what I wrote. Nothing goes to the podcast that she has not signed off on. Her story belongs to her.
05
On the day the episode airs, she comes back for three questions — either live with me or sent in writing for me to read aloud. The same three questions go to every woman. It is the small ritual that ties the season together.
· · ·
The same ritual every time. The same shape every time.
I
Every episode begins with research or information that connects to the story being told. Context. History. Quiet knowledge that helps a story land.
II
I tell her story in my own voice. Written by me. Approved by her. Slowly, the way the women in the kitchen used to tell stories before everything got rushed.
III
She returns to the podcast — by voice or by written word — to answer three questions. The same three questions every time. The bridge between her story and yours.
IV
Each episode closes with a guided meditation that draws from the themes of the story. A quiet way to carry the episode with you into the rest of your day.
· · ·
Not polished. Not produced. Just true.
Each episode is one woman, one story, one ritual. Slow. Unhurried. Shaped with care. There are no ads, no sponsors, no quick takes, no listicles.
You will hear from women who have left and women who have stayed. Women who started over and women who stayed the course. Women who came home to themselves and women who are still on the way.
Eventually I will bring on experts — women whose research and practice deepen what these stories are pointing at. But the women themselves come first.
If you have ever wished you could sit down with a wise older woman and just listen, this is for you.
· · ·
Episode One releases June 13. It is just me, sitting down to tell you what this is and why I am making it. After that, the women begin telling their stories. Nine voices in the first season.

YOUR HOST

Since I was young, women have sat down across from me and told me their stories. Not because I asked. Because something in me made it safe to. Holding space for another woman's truth — that was the work, even when I did not yet have a name for it.
The Crone Stories is the work fully named. I gather the stories, I write them with care, she approves what I have written, and then I tell her story on the podcast in my own voice. It is the most natural thing I have ever made.
I am so glad you are here.

AN INVITATION
The first season has nine voices. The second season will have more.
If you are a woman over 40 with a story of transformation, of finding yourself, of leaving or staying or starting again, of becoming who you actually are — I would love to hear from you.
This is not an audition. It is an opening. You do not need to be a writer or a public speaker. You do not need to be on a microphone unless you want to be. You can be named, anonymous, or anything in between. I write the story. You approve it. Your story stays yours.
I read everything that comes in. No pressure.
This podcast is for the women who were never asked. The ones whose wisdom got called difficult. The ones whose stories were edited out of the family record. The ones who have been waiting their whole lives for someone to lean in and say — tell me.
I am leaning in. I am waiting.
· · ·
In love, light and laughter, Karen.
